Challenges of Providing Services to Developmentally Disabled Youth in Nicaragua and How You Can Help

Patrica Fernandez grew up in Spain but has lived in Granada, Nicaragua for many years and is currently director of Corozon Contento (Happy Heart) a program that helps children with developmental disabilities. The program provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychological services along with a parenting school. The program helps about 300 children a year. In addition, the program advocates for the rights of the disabled. Patrica is fluent in Spanish and English.
